The managing director of Euro Exim
Bank Ltd. made economists think when he said:
"Cyclists are a disaster for a country's economy:
They don't buy cars and don't borrow to buy them.
They don't pay insurance for the cars they don't buy.
They don't pay for gas, maintenance, or repairs.
They don't use paid parking lots.
They do not cause serious accidents.
They don't have to use wide avenues.
They don't get fat.
Healthy people are neither necessary nor
useful to the economy.
They don't buy medicine. They don't go to the hospital or need
doctors.
They do not help the gross domestic product to grow.
On the other hand, every new McDonald's restaurant creates at least
thirty new jobs: ten cardiologists, ten diet specialists and nutritionists, and
obviously the people who work at the restaurant."
Choose carefully:
Cyclist or McDonald's?
It's worth thinking about...
P.S.: Walking is even worse. Pedestrians don't even buy
bicycles...
